Be prepared to hit that little (see more) button below, because I doubt I will get it all in. I want to thank all of you that took the time out of their busy lives to make a difference in the lives of those less fortunate than us. It’s a remarkable thing when so many people come together for a common cause and the power of many becomes the power of one. We are on track to raise over $100,000 for Give Kids The World and I can tell you from my years of experience with the organization, you will make a tremendous difference in the lives of children and families facing life-threatening illnesses, and you will continue to inspire hope. Fundraising pages will still be open through September 4th, so PLEASE don’t stop. We are so close to reaching this amazing feat. And, because Lexin Capital pays all the expenses, every penny raised goes directly to Give Kids The World. If everyone will keep trying, and those that have yet to raise anything will keep trying, we will do this! I wanted to touch on a couple things that I heard this past weekend. Probably the thing I heard the most, and usually from people new to Hearts of Reality was “I wish we had more time with the kids”. There is nothing I would enjoy more than to have more interaction with the kids, but to be honest with you- all the kids and families are off at the theme parks fulfilling their wishes during the day, so we would be walking around a rather empty GKTW if we went there any earlier than we do. Others have asked, well can’t we go volunteer there for a day, paint a building, or do something else while we are there? Those are all GREAT ideas too and don’t think we didn’t think about that, BUT to volunteer it would require background checks and an orientation. I am sure you see how many gray hairs this event puts on my head balancing 103 different personalities, can you imagine if I had to background check each one as well? It just wouldn’t be real feasible, so instead, I try to offer something creative, fun and very “Florida”, even though several chose to skip out on that part of the weekend. So, again, I just want to say thank you. Most of you stepped it up big and I know you have hearts of gold. Those that just came to party will be weeded out and replaced with the ones that want to be here for the right reasons and we will continue to do all that we can to make happy memories for the children and families we make a difference for. Tomorrow’s are never guaranteed, but I can guarantee we can make this world a better place while we are here. I will reach out to each and every one of you individually and let you know how much you are appreciated, but until then, I want to publicly say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Mike Nunez
