"Beacons of Light" Titus 1:15 “To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact, both their minds and consciences are corrupted.” (NIV) Every Christian has the choice of allowing Christ to live on the throne of his/her life or on the periphery. When Christ lives on the periphery of your life, you can easily be corrupted and compromised by the world resulting in it being difficult to distinguish between what is pure and what is not. Corrupted thinking and a compromised conscience will begin to blur your ability to distinguish between what is pure, holy, and godly and that which is of the world. Habakkuk 1:13 “Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Why then do you tolerate the treacherous? Why are you silent while the wicked swallow up those more righteous than themselves?” Issues that were previously black and white are now shades of gray. What the world now sees is not a follower of Christ with a distinctive character and the flavor of Christ; the world sees a Christian that looks no differently than themselves. Revelation 3:15-16 “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm — neither hot nor cold — I am about to spit you out of My mouth.” God desires a relationship with you in which the transparency of His life flows through you. Your life with Christ should be so close and intimate with Him that you reflect Christ’s life in every way. Wake up each morning anxious to fellowship with the Lord, involve Him throughout the day in every part of your life, and let your conversations with others reflect the risen Christ in you. Pray and guard against being absorbed into the world as well as pray that your life radiates Christ into the world. Let nothing in your life repel others from Christ, but allow Christ in you to be a magnet for drawing others to Him! Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable — if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” (NIV).
