"Because the bible says so" is the most common line you get from christians when they try to defend their faith in "God" as if the bible is total proof of the existence of such a "god". What they tend to forget is that the bible did not come by fax from "heaven" or magically fall from the sky, but it is a product of humans hands who were trying to explain why things exist or happen according to their own understandings at that time. Now that there are scientific explanations for almost every question we can ask the bible can be happily tossed in the bin. Science does not outright disprove the existence of God but can be used to show that belief in God is not needed to understand the world around us. Science creates a better world for humanity compared to the bible.
