Become a Global Citizen We should all come to the realization that human beings are global citizens with unique global value. States, nations and other affiliations are supposed to be administrative units and not points of identity. It is not proper to be identified in terms of state, nation or region. When people say that they are Nigerians, Ghanians, Americans, Europeans, etc, they are reducing their value as global citizens. We need to realize that nations are administrative units and should not be points of identity. For some, their states and tribes are regarded as their points of identity and they feel proud to be indigenes of states/tribes than to be citizens of the world. Unless we come to the consciousness that we are global citizens and therefore brothers and sisters, the many challenges facing the world cannot be solved. As long as tribalism, ethnicity and even nationalism dominate our thoughts, words and actions, our world will remain divided against itself. We need to become global citizens even in our local communities. To educate on this and other related issues, I created Global Educators for All Initiative.
