Becoming a Mature Follower of Christ: Yes indeed, anyone that calls upon the name of The Lord through sincerity, humility, will be saved. Salvation is truly free, provided to each of us by Christ alone. However we spend the rest of our days paying with our lives for this free salvation. If you do not understand this as a follower of Christ, you wont last long. One of the greatest hindrances to you and I as followers of Christ is our failure to break off evil, worldly relationships that we had before our coming to Christ. Dont get me wrong, I am not saying that we just turn our backs on them and walk away; we should try our best to lead them to Jesus. The Word of God tells us that we are to separate ourselves from the world, touch not those things that are unclean and follow Christ. This is how we begin to mature as Christians. He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (Proverbs 13:20 KJV) Evil communications corrupt good manners (1 Cor 15:33 Unwise associations can destroy your relationship with Jesus. My dad used to have this little saying, if you hang around a barn you are bound to get a little stink on you. How true that is. Unwise associates will: -belittle your dreams. -be more critical than complimentary. -embarrass and humiliate you. -siphon your energy and time through useless waste. My friend, it is up to you and I to choose the level of growth at which we will live. Surround yourself with people that will build your faith and confidence. Gods desire is that you mature in Him; move in that direction today! God bless my dear friends.
