Beef Soup. 500g rough chopped chuck ,2 fine chopped carrots, 2sticks celery & 1large brown onion fine chopped,2crushed cloves of garlic, 2tsp chopped rosemary (fresh), if dry 1 tsp.1Lbeef stock (chicken will do)1/3cup pearl barley,2bay leaves,1tin crushed toms,300g sweet potato peeled cut into 1cm pieces Meth-Heat 1/2 tbs oil med high , Brown beef 3-4 mins remove . Add 1/2 tbs oil,carrot,celery,onion for 8mins . Add garlic , rosemary for 1min,return the beef add stock barley & bay leaf simmer for 1 1/2 hours Add toms sweet potato. simmer 1/2 hour till meat is tender. For Debbie Lumsden
