Been noticing all of the I stand with Israel posts lately. Propaganda is an extraordinary tool. Im not choosing sides here but I do have some questions and though this topic is controversial I welcome intelligent conversation (as always). Why is it that when Israelis are killed and injured by a Palestinian attack, the media cuts to “breaking news” reports? Footage from the devastation and interviews with outraged Israeli government officials are broadcasted and harsh statements are issued by government to appear in tomorrow’s front page newspaper ... Meanwhile, the steady killing of Palestinian civilians by the Israeli occupation army goes largely unnoticed and unreported... I am a beliver that if you are in the right then there is no reason to hide details or filter your story. If a burglar breaks in my house and attacks me and I kill him thats what happend. Theres nothing to hide. So why are we hiding the overwhelming death toll of the Palestinian people? The Israelis are retaliating a heck of a lot more than we are reporting. That causes me to raise an eyebrow. By consistently emphasizing the suffering of Israelis, and downplaying or ignoring the killings of Palestinians, the media conveys a very false impression that Palestinian “attacks” are the principal feature of the conflict. Whenever Israel attacks its considered retaliation conditioning us to believe that there is a right and a wrong, a victim and an aggressor. That might have been true a long time ago but in the past decade and a half Israel has claimed almost 7 times the amount of Palestinian lives. Approximately 6,900 dead Palestinians to about 1,100 dead Israelis. But yall dont here me though. In my opinion, no one can claim to be retaliating anymore. Both sides have killed men, women, children and have proved themselves to be just as barbaric and savage as the other..... but hey, thats just my opinion, whats yours?
