Been somewhat per-occupied for the last couple of days so not much - TopicsExpress

Been somewhat per-occupied for the last couple of days so not much time for Facebook, I know right, shocking! So here is why, firstly I am joyous in being able to tell you that I start my new job tomorrow and that I have moved on from my old position with a minimum of fuss. Here in the UAE this is no small challenge and I had to suck up a few issues that I hope Karma will pay me back for. Secondly, and for me far more importantly, I have decided to apply for the position of Camp Newspaper Reporter for Peak 2015. So would you give me the job? Here is my application letter... Dear Peak 2015 Having not missed a Peak Camp since visiting on Cub Visitor Day, as a cub, I have had a passion for this particular event for almost a life time. I was there as a Scout and a Scout Leader, then giving back so others could enjoy the camp I have worked on a variety of teams. Rifle Range, Site Safety Team, Mountain Biking and all of these teams have given me a great opportunity to meet an amazing array of people. Why this team and this job? Because it would be my pleasure and honour to use the skills I have gained throughout my life to help record this incredible event and see it immortalised in all is multifaceted, multicultural, multi-coloured glory. I am a frequent social media blogger, a spare time writer, aspiring poet, rookie epistemologist and lover of etymology. Professionally I have travelled extensively and currently live and work in the Middle East, Dubai in the United Arab Emirates to be exact. I am primarily a Sales and Marketing expert but my wider role is now that of General Manager of an international brand. Throughout my career I have been involved in several successful ad campaigns and have been required to provide copy for a number of industry magazines. I am able to work to tight and often impossible deadlines, very thorough, well organised and disciplined in my work. I have held a variety of posts within Scouting although at this time I am only a registered helper at Drum Hill, which I try to attend each year, due to work and personal commitments keeping me from a more active role. Historically I have been a Scout Leader, Venture Scout Leader, and County Commissionaire for Network Section Derbyshire. I have produced a number of Scouting related news letters and magazines as both Editor and Reporter. Additional skills include being a trainer of trainers or a “Coach coach”. I have been a mentor or coach in a variety of fields for over fifteen years. If there is any requirement to assist a younger member of the team, I believe we will have the energy of the Explorers within the team, then this would be my pleasure. I would also be happy to provide you with an example of my work if you would like to provide either title or subject. If I haven’t been absolutely clear, I would really like this job.
