Before I say this, understand that I have long considered myself a conservative and generally lean Republican when voting. Anyhow, I just read the article on WISHTV stating that the state is not to recognize any of the gay marriages that took place. I understand that there may be laws (thats a first for lawmakers to follow...) and such but if these marriage licenses were issued under the good faith that it was not illegal at the time, they should be grandfathered under the current stay that was issued by the appeals court. I dont care what your personal beliefs are, the individuals that got married are US citizens and deserve the same protections under the law as the rest of us. This basic constitutional premise is what has kept me on the conservative side for so long but now I am seeing that it only applies to the right when it fits their agenda.... wishtv/2014/07/09/indiana-wont-recognize-gay-marriages/
