Tens of thousands of soldiers, horses and engines of war filled the gentle spaces that Nimbu had once so lovingly cultivated and groomed.“ “There were eight army’s led by eight immortal human kings. Each army was supported by its bevy of gods who had aligned their interests with the human kings of their choice. With great indignation, they marched upon Nimbu’s valley, prepared to assert their just claims and avenge their imaginary hurts.” ”For a month they bivouacked, prepared and parleyed. To feed their masses they killed, cut and burned everything in sight. They raped the land and spoiled the waters. The air was ripe with the stench of feces, rotting and burning. They hated each other for their want of the prize. But most of all they hated Nimbu for keeping it from them.
