Before you go to sleep tonight Wudhu Dust bedding Al-mulk 4 qul Aytul-kursi Dhikr Fajr Alarm Shahada Sleeping dua Right side Hand under cheek Clean heart Forgive & forget SHARE!!! ► WUDU The prophet MUHAMMAD Sallallahu Aliyhi wasallam said: Whenever you go to bed perform ablution like that for the prayer, lie or your right side and say: Allahumma aslamtu wajhi ilaika, wa fauwadtu Amri ilaika wa aljatu zahri ilaika, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilaika, lamaljaa wa la manja mink a ill a ilaika. Amantu bikitabi kalladhi anzalta wa bi nabiyyikal-ladhi arsalta. (Bukhari :: Book 1 :: Volume 4 :: Hadith 247) (English: O Allah! I surrender to You and entrust all my affairs to You and depend upon You for Your Blessings both with hope and fear of You. There is no fleeing from You, and there is no place of protection and safety except with You O Allah! I believe in Your Book (the Quran) which You have revealed and in Your Prophet (Muhammad) whom You have sent.) Then if you die on that very night, you will die with faith (i.e. or the religion of Islam). Let the aforesaid words be your last utterance (before sleep) “ This hadith explains the need to do ablution before going to bed along with that dua. If we die the same night, we will die on faith. What can be more lovely then to die as a faithful muslim? In another hadith, the stae of ablution before sleeping has been described in these words: [Sahih Bukhari & Sahih Muslim] The Prophet peace be upon him told al-Baraa` bin Aazib (RA) If you go to your bed, then do your wudoo (ablution) as you would do it for prayer, then lie on your right In another hadith, which is classed as “good” by Albaani, the need of ablution has been described in these words: It is narrated from Ibn e Umar [RA] that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said, “Purify these bodies, and Allah will purify you. Whenever a slave spends his night in a state of purification, an angel spends his night within his (slave’s) hair and he does not turn over during the night except that he [the angel] says: O Allah, forgive Your slave, for he went to sleep in a state of purification.” [Reported by Tabarani and graded good by Shaikh Al-Albani] Therefore, the act of ablution before going to bed is sunnah and doing this will not only earn us sawab but also if we die in night while in sleeping, we will die as faithful Muslims and there is nothing better to die as a good Muslim and to enter jannah. ► Dust off your bed before sleeping The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “When one of you goes to his bed, let him dust off his bed with the inside of his lower garment, for he does not know what came onto it after he left it.” (Bukhari/Muslim) The inside of his lower garment means its edge. One should dust down his bed before lying on it, should there be a harmful insect or bug which crawled inside the bed and he should dust it down with his hand covered by the edge of his lower garment, should something happen to his hand if there is anything there. Thus we should dust off the bed, preferably with our hands covered. ► SURAH MULK Abu Hurairah Radiyallahu ‘anhu narrates that Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said: Indeed, there is a Surah in the Qur’an having thirty verses, which intercedes for its reciter until he is forgiven. And that Surah is: Tabarakalladhi biyadihil mulk (Surah 67). (Tirmidhi) Ibne-’Abbas Radiyallahu ‘anhuma narrates that someone, amongst the companions of Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam, set up his tent over a grave, without realizing that it was a grave. Suddenly he heard the person of the grave reciting Surah Mulk, upto to end of the Surah. He came to Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam and said: O Rasulallah I set up my tent unknowingly over a grave, and suddenly I heard someone reciting Surah Mulk up to its end. Nabi Sallallahu ‘alaihi wasallam said: It is the defender; it is the protector which safeguards him from the Punishment in the grave. (Tirmidhi) ► DHIKR remembrance in Allah, or the lack of it can be blamed on mismanaging time or forgetfulness; but the truth is, we may not truly understand the weight on these short words or phases on our hearts and souls. And the rewards! The Messenger of Allah describes the incentives to remembering Allah throughout or day. Basically, if you remember Allah in this life, He will remember you (and grant you wonderful things) in this life and the next. The Prophet peace and blessings of Allah be upon him said, “Allah says: ‘I am just as My slave thinks I am, (i.e. I am able to do for him what he thinks I can do for him) and I am with him if He remembers Me. If he remembers Me in himself, I too, remember him in Myself; and if he remembers Me in a group of people, I remember him in a group that is better than they; and if he comes one span nearer to Me, I go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to Me, I go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to Me walking, I go to him running.” [Sahih Bukhari] ► FAJR ALARM 🕖 In sha Allah after a certain period of time we will no longer be in need of an alarm clock for our hearts will automatically wake us up for Salah. ► SHAHADAH Sleep is like death and what guarantee we shall awake from it, so may our words be that of LA ILAHA ILLALLAH, MUHAMMEDUR RASULULLAH ► AYATUL KURSI When you lie down in your bed, recite ayat al-Kursi, Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He), the Ever Living, the One Who sustains and protects all that exists? [al-Baraqah 2:255] until the end of the ayah, then you will have a protector from Allah and no Shaitaan (devil) will come near you until morning comes. [Sahih al-Bukhari] ► SLEEPING DUA اَللّهُمَّ بِسْمِكَ أَمُوْتُ وَ أَحْي Allaahumma bismika amootu wa ahyaa (O Allah, in Your name I die and I live) ► RIGHT SIDE. HAND UNDER CHEEK. ► CLEAN HEART A man became among the people of Jannah because of going to bed with a clean heart The Messenger of Allah (sallaAllahu ‘alayhi wasallam) was sitting with a group of sahabah (RA) in the masjid and he said “A man will now enter who is from the people of Paradise” and a sahabi walked in. The next day the Prophet said the same thing and the same man appeared. Then again the following day, the Prophet (pbuh) said “A man will now enter who is from the people of Paradise” and the same sahabi walked in for the third time. ‘Abdullah ibn ‘Amr ibn al-‘aas (RA) wanted to find out what was so special about this man that he was singled out on three consecutive days to be from the people of Paradise. So he asked the man if he can stay over his house for 3 days. ‘Abdullah made up an excuse. The man allowed him to stay. ‘Abdullah noticed that the man didn’t do anything out of the ordinary - he didn’t fast all the time, he slept some of the night, he didn’t pray tahajud and so on. So after the 3 days, ‘Abdullah told him the real reason why he requested to stay with him - that he was singled out to be from the people of Paradise and wanted to know why - and he asked him what it was that could be the reason why he was from the people of Jannah. The man (RA) couldn’t think of anything. He said quite humbly “I don’t know anything of what I do out of the ordinary.” Then ‘Abdullah was about to leave and the man (RA) said but Every night, before I go to sleep, I forgive whoever has wronged me. I remove any bad feelings towards anyone from my heart. Immediately, ‘Abdullah said THAT is the reason. SubhanAllah lets all try doing what this man used to do we may find it hard But after hardship will always come ease and in shaa Allah well be among the People of Jannah
