Being Late Could Cost Matthew 25:10-11 And while they went to - TopicsExpress

Being Late Could Cost Matthew 25:10-11 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. “Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open to us!’ 12 But he answered and said, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Some people like to be late to be seen. You know that I’m right about it. Some people can’t help themselves for being late because it has become a bad habit for them. Some people do have misfortunes and they are late on occasions. Some people are never late and in fact they are always early so they will not be late. When we are late for an event, we could miss the opportunity to get in. We can be so late that the maximum capacity has already exceeded its limits and now the doors have been locked and no one else can gain entrance. One year attending the Hampton Minister’s Conference, Bishop T.D. Jakes was there and quickly the convocation center filled up to capacity. The ushers locked the doors not to break the fire codes by letting people in. I had come out to go to the restroom and I saw the people on the outside trying to get inside. They all had sad looks on their faces and it was HOT outside and where I was it was nice and cool. Then I thought about this parable of the 5 wise and the 5 foolish virgins. The people who were on the outside had already paid their money to attend the conference but they could not gain entrance because they were late. I had already said, “Being Late Could Cost”. Here in this story the 5 wise went and took oil for their lamps and the 5 foolish took no oil. Then the 5 wise trimmed their lamps and the 5 foolish asked for oil for their lamps. The 5 wise told the 5 foolish to go to Wal-Mart and buy some. So the 5 foolish caught the metro train and went to Wal-Mart. While they were gone, the Bride Groom came and took the 5 wise virgins and they had a wonderful wedding! The 5 foolish came back late and could not get in. They begged and begged and the Lord said, “I do not know you”. Now this parable is to give us warning about doing the right things before Jesus returns. If we do not choose to do what is right, then we could end up being like the 5 foolish, LATE! Being late could cost. Be blessed my brothers and sisters and know that God loves you and so do I and let us continue on our journey to, “WALK, TALK AND LIVE IN VICTORY!”
