Being a long time Waynesburg resident and realizing a few years ago that traffic was never going to get better may I offer up a possible partial solution to the truck traffic and the mishaps that occur along with it. With all the back and forth I have seen on this site I think we can all agree that everyone - either pro or con - has a valid point! It seems that a lot of the problems that occur stems from the fact that a lot of the trucks - run in convoys. When in town I have seen them speed up to stay together and seen the tail-end trucks run red lights to keep the convoy intact. DO THESE TRUCKS NEED TO RUN IN A CONVOY?? Is there a tactical or logistical reason they have to stay together? I dont know! Can we mandate that they stay separated at least through town? I dont know! Will this help with traffic? Maybe! If there is a real reason that they must stay in convoy then I understand. If not - lets spread it out a little bit and see if that helps some. I dont know - it could make things worse! Any input or suggestions yourselves? We are trying to solve a problem in a reasonable way so please - no rants! Everyone has a valid point if you stay reasonable!!
