Being a native of Louisiana who grew up Cajun, I can give a pretty good generalization that most of South Louisiana is predominantly Catholic, while about everything north of Alexandria is typically Baptist and all other flavors of protestant. These unreasonable masses of faith continue to elect those who would only pander to the superstitious. The mindless mutterings of priests (and ministers) over law, invariably.
