Being able to express ourselves through our gifts, talents and - TopicsExpress

Being able to express ourselves through our gifts, talents and passion is one of our greatest freedoms. You see expressing ourselves through art, music, film, writing, photography, athleticism, dancing, poetry, singing, etc- packs such a mighty power that when used for a good cause, literally makes a positive impact and difference. Making our passions come alive by expressing them through our gifts is a great sword, which cuts through negativity in the fight of change. One’s capturing documentary on human trafficking grips our hearts, which causes us to form organizations to help those who have been victims as the pressure on our politicians and authorities to do something mounts on. One’s political cartoon depicting the message of how much money is spent on senseless wars when we have starving people across many nations and even our very own; really causes us to rethink the properties of our nation and to questions the validity of our message of “fighting against terrorism” when we in fact spread terror across the world. One’s music centered around messages of hope as they walk us through the pages of a painful past but overcame; spreads strength and healing to others. One’s photo which captures the image of a child’s horror and grief when he stands in front of his bombed home during a pointless war-no words are needed as the visual speaks ever so loudly to our conscience and hearts. An athlete, who uses his influence to raise money for cancer research or to spread Christianity, etc.- gives organizations and foundation that much needed exposure to promote support. One’s gift and expression of dance or singing can be therapeutic and aid in someone’s physical healing. Or a writer who dedicates their work to searching and expressing the truth; frees our minds and shines a light on dark secrets. Ultimately when we center our passions around doing what is good, it brings about enlightenment, healing, encouragement, joy, and most of all it stirs our hearts- creating a ripple of change. Because the more you shine lights of truth where the darkness of lies rest, the lighter our world becomes. The more you teach the more educated our world becomes. Ultimately the more we express and display your passions it literally creates a cycle of positive change. So ask yourself: How am I using the gifts and talents God gave me? How am I using my passions and expressing myself? Is what I’m doing making a difference or just entertaining? Am I creating music or senseless derogatory trash? Am I using my body to dance skillfully and respectably in a form of art or I am simply making shameful twerk videos simply for views and likes? Am I a politician to fight for the causes of those who represent me? or do I simply use my position to quench my thirst of power? Do I preach and pastor to minister the hearts of God’s people and Do I REALLY LOVE the people? or I am just trying to impress with my preaching skills, to collect money and fame while my congregation starves? Do I teach to positively shape young minds or do I simply want to show off my intellect and promote my books and research? Am I a leader because I love people or because I want to be in power? Am I a speaker because I want to encourage others or do I just sell myself and a message that I don’t even live by? Do I use my gifts to bring glory to God or myself? Do I write to promote truth or do I just tell people what they want to hear because I simply want everyone to purchase my works? Ultimately ask yourself is what I’m doing, small or great sparking positive change? Therefore my friends I encourage you to think long and hard about why you do what you do, and if it isnt for the right reasons, I strongly suggest you find them. Remember: there is power in expression, so use it wisely. Take The Lead and express your gifts to promote change because using a gift for anything other than to make a difference is a gift wasted. 1millionhours
