Being in a wheelchair people often ask me if I need help doing things such as opening doors, picking things up or moving something. These offers are all greatly appreciated, however we disabled people have fraught very hard for any independence we can get and at times dont want nor need the help of others. I always tell people that if I need your help Ill ask for it. And at times I do need the help of others to complete simple tasks. When people ask if I want there help and I tell them no thanks, I ways try to thank th for asking. I do this bc there maybe someone else in a chair who would need there help and I would hope that they would continue to offer there help. Everyone in a chair is different in there capabilities thus each of is has different needs. So all u able bodies 1) always ask b4 u help a disabled person 2) Do not get discouraged to ask again if we say no, it just bc we can do it ourselves or are learning to do it ourselves 3) Please continue to lend your kind support
