Being offended at someones actions can plunge us into a state of spiritual blindness quicker than just about anything. It becomes difficult to sense Gods presence & therefore difficult to pray. Its easy to get offended. We have good indication from scripture that even John the Baptist was close, or possibly did, become offended at Jesus. John sent his own disciples to Jesus to ask if He was The One...or, He said...should we look for another? John knew who Jesus was, yet at this moment of offense became disillusioned & lost his spiritual discernment. Even to the point that he questioned whether or not Jesus was the Messiah. Jesus told Johns disciples to return & tell him blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in Me (see Luke 7:22-23). Offense has caused more people to stumble in the darkness, spiritually speaking, more than perhaps anything. We must learn to, & practice often, walking in the love of God, & being quick to let go of offenses. If you commune intimately with God, on a consistent basis, & have learned to love that communion, it becomes more & more difficult to hold on to an offense. That is, once you realize how detrimental offense is to your communion with God. Holding an offense against you, is not worth losing the sweetness of my communion with God.
