Being the President of ULGA-YP is pretty cool blessing that is not taken lightly. Over the last two weeks the position I hold really hit me. Thats interesting, because I dont see my role or views changing. Im still the guy who shows up to work for the mission of The National Urban League and National Urban League Young Professionals (NULYP). Still approachable, easy to talk to, and most importantly Im constantly growing; still looking up to those before me who are all #Dope leaders. The mission of the Urban League movement is to enable African Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. If people believe in themselves, it’s amazing what they can accomplish The vision continuing forward is just that, getting the people to believe in themselves, giving them a hand up, and empowering them to be an example of change for their community and peers.
