Below, are a set of photos from today. Florida Governor, Rick Scott came to speak at our school today. What was supposed to be a Press Conference concerning Disabilities and Education, quickly turned into a feeding frenzy of questions for Rick Scott. This is the second time Rick Scott has visited with us at our new school location. We appreciate his and his administrations interest and concern about our students as well as the disabled people of Central Florida. I know many of you think I am simply a Liberal NutJob. But, I was NOT a Liberal 20 years ago. I was a Christian Conservative, Republican. After working DIRECTLY in a field that was immersed in politics, I became much more politically minded. And, by 2002 I realized that my votes (as a Republican) were NOT in the best interest of my country, my family, my job, my businesses, or for the good of the American people. I clearly saw the Republican Agenda and its leadership for what it is. I am neither a Democrat nor a Republican today. As, neither party deserves my support or interest. However, after having a front row seat to bad politics for more than a decade, I knew in my heart and mind that becoming more Liberal minded was the only way to NOT be a hypocrite and be able to serve my fellow man. It was a very difficult choice, because it was the undoing of a big part of my life. Many professional friends left me. That was fine. I am better off for it. Today, in 2015, I am an ACTIVIST, Advocate and a Lobbyist primarily for Education and the Disabled. I do not even get PAID to do any of it. I have to find time to do these things. I do not need your appreciation, as much as I ask for your respect for what I do and whom I do it for. I also ask that you do not thumb your nose at my political assertions, as I (more often than most) have first hand information on it. My political posts are more often to educate and inform than they are meant to polarize. I know I send out many slams on Conservative and Republicans. Yes, it is most often intentional. I also do it to bring AWARENESS to the hypocrisy that Americas Tax Dollars go for most often. And, I have taken many personal attacks and hits for it along the way. You are welcome to your opinions. However, the difference here in my life, is that I walk it and work it almost daily. I do not sit on my ass, soaking up Faux News feeling informed and superior to everyone else. I have had many doses of humility in my life, from many facets. I have been in the trenches more often than most any one of you may know. And, I get my information from First Hand Experience most often, much more than a Slanted Fake news Host. The point being; YES, I am very outspoken. To some, I am even overly opinionated. But, here is the truth. I am doing the REAL work. I am writing letters, reading laws and bills that NO ONE even takes the time to read (much less knowing where to find them). I put my education to good use and make it work for me. And, in no way does this make me more superior to you or anyone else. It simply makes me an American that CARES very much about our country.
