Position Announcement Adjunct Instructor: Cosmetology/Esthetics Lab Assistant Athens Technical College in Athens, Georgia seeks a part-time Lab Assistant to assist instructor with lab preparation and maintenance for courses in Cosmetology and Esthetics on the Athens Campus in Athens, Georgia. The successful applicant will be expected to prepare implements, supplies, equipment and other lab materials that support stated objectives to provide students with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve the learning outcomes. The lab assistant reports to the program chair and is responsible for daily operations, assistance in the evaluation of student learning outcomes, maintaining records, maintaining safety equipment and procedures and assisting with inventory. The successful applicant will be able to manage all aspects of the laboratory for the program to include: adhere to all rules, regulations and course syllabi; use appropriate teaching techniques; conduct proper testing and grading activities; demonstrate appropriate knowledge of the subject area; use and maintain records; follow lesson plans for lab preparation; evaluate students progress in attaining goals and objectives; request and maintain supplies and equipment; prepare and maintain required documentation for administrative reports as needed. Participate in institutional activities in support of the program to include: assist in recruiting for the college, maintain knowledge of current trends, and attend required meetings. Minimum Qualifications Hold a current Masters Cosmetology license or Esthetician license in the state of Georgia; at least 5 years’ experience in a salon/spa with concentration in skin care services.
