Bethania Lutheran Church hosts Dr. Harvey Cox this weekend, Feb. 21-23 for the annual Farstrup-Mortensen lectures. The first lecture, The Context of the Future Church: The World Christians Will Live in is at 7 pm Friday, Feb. 21 in the Parish Hall. The Shape of the Future Church: What Comes After Denominations Expire? is at 9:00 am on Saturday, Feb. 22. Also on Saturday - Dr. Cox will comment on two brief films to be shown at 11:00 am. The last lecture of the day is The Tasks of the Future Church: Reaching out to the Excluded, with Some Observations on Pope Francis. Individual lectures are $25 each at the door. Bishop Guy Erwin of the Southwest California Synod ELCA will preach on Sunday, Feb. 23. Dr. Cox, Bishop Guy Erwin, Dr. Jarmo Tarkki, and Pastor Russ Gordon will participate in a panel discussion on Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Parish Hall. Come, join us at Bethania!
