Between 2010 and 2014, the State Department reported that a total of 1,106 U.S. citizens died in Mexico from other than natural causes, and about 82 of them were homicide victims in Juárez. During the five-year period, Juárez claimed the highest number of homicides in Mexico involving U.S. citizens, according to information reported to the U.S. State Department.
