Answer This is a very good and simple question. I would have thought there was a simple answer. I use only the Bible to answer questions, but in this case when I searched the Bible for the words, "first" and "death", I could not find a single text mentioning a first death. The Bible does mention a second death: KJV Revelation 20:6 6. Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years. KJV Revelation 2:11 11. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death. KJV Revelation 20:14 14. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. KJV Revelation 21:1-8 1. And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. 2. The above text gives us a description of the second death. The text also tells us that if we overcome we will not have part in the second death. But this does not tell us what the first death might be. Since the Bible does not mention a first death, I do not think this is a subject I should speculate upon.
