Convention Banquet Reminder One of the highlights of our national convention each year is the banquet, ending the week on an inspirational high note. To be a part of this evening to remember, you need to do three things: First, of course, you must purchase a banquet ticket if you haven’t already done so. Second, you’ll want to exchange that banquet ticket for a specific table in the ballroom. The final very important third step is to bring your ticket to the banquet. This year, we will be checking tickets at the door. Nobody will be admitted without their banquet ticket in hand. Avoid that harrowing journey against traffic back to your room to retrieve your ticket. Don’t miss a minute of the evening’s festivities. Please bring that ticket with you to the ballroom doors. Shuttle between Hotels There will be a shuttle between the Rosen Centre and the Rosen Plaza throughout each day from July 1 through July 6. The exact times are still being determined and will be announced on the listserv and at convention. The shuttle will pick up at the Backstage entrance at the Plaza and the Signature entrance at the Centre. There will be NFB members curbside at each hotel to provide assistance. NFB Independence Market at Convention Be sure to explore our Independence Market and free literature areas in the exhibit hall. This year we have prepared two documents that we hope provide some valuable advance-information to exhibit hall visitors. •NFB Free Literature Information for Convention Attendees Provides some general information about our free literature, lists the literature categories, and mentions some items of particular interest. • NFB Independence Market Information for Convention Attendees Describes the layout of the Independence Market and explains how to make purchases. We are also making the Independence Market New Product List available online. Find out in advance which products are on sale for the first time at convention this year, before you visit the Independence Market in person. This document will also be available in print and in Braille at the Independence Market in the exhibit hall. In addition, links to the three above-mentioned documents will be available via QR code at the information table in the exhibit hall. Please don’t forget to pick up a free print copy of the NFB 50th Anniversary Cookbook at the free literature table while supplies last. One more thing--UPS prepaid boxes will be available for $15.00 from the market. Once you have filled up your box, you can drop it at the UPS table in the lobby of the hotel on Sunday, July 6, between noon and 2:00 p.m. NFB Camp There seem to be some problems with families getting information about NFB Camp and how to sign up. Please let all of your families who are bringing children to convention know that they can get the registration forms on: mainstreetmontessori.org There is a tab for NFB Camp. The forms are not writable, but we will work on that for next year. I know we have passed the deadline, but there is still space... probably because no one has been able to find the information! Attention Kids of All Ages—LEGOLAND Deal LEGOLAND Florida is offering a great deal to our members while we are in Orlando: two-for-one and 25 percent off individual tickets! Just visit the LEGOLAND website to purchase tickets. There is a shuttle bus that departs from: I-Drive 360 at 8350 International Drive at: 9:00 am each day To schedule and purchase $5 tickets on the shuttle, visit the LEGOLAND Other website. You can also purchase a parking pass on the same site. Have a bricktacular day! Resolutions Posted This year, those resolutions that are passed by the resolutions committee will be posted to the NFB website. The committee will meet on Wednesday, July 2nd, at 1:30 pm and the resolutions will be posted sometime after they adjourn. The membership will be able to review the resolutions until Saturday, July 5th, when the voting will occur. PAC Plan We are now accepting debit cards (in addition to credit cards and checks) for contributions to the PAC plan. The updated form can be found at: https://nfb.org//images/nfb/documents/pdf/pac-form-fillout-accessible.pdf Stop by the PAC plan table at the convention to update your pledge. Streaming the Convention In case you know someone that wont be able to join us in Florida, the NFB will once again be live streaming portions of the national convention.
