Big band night at Zal Gaz Grotto was absolutely NUTS tonight!!!! 60 people there - which is a big crowd for us. Our special guests were Landmark Academy High School Jazz Band from Port Huron. They played most excellently! We celebrated the birthday of our guest pianist and dear freind Ellen Rowe. We recorded all night with Paul Klinger as our recording engineer. We played a brand new Keller chart of Nancy With The Laughing Face which features the mighty Jimmy Smith on trumpet. Beauty, Jimmy! WEMUs Linda Yohn was there and we recorded our big band special version of Linda for her! FUN! Susan Chastain was in town to sing with the big band. It was so great to work with her and rekindle our friendship. Everyone was so happy to see and hear Susan! Sarah Barnes DAngelo showed up and sang as well. Both Susan and Sarah were awesome - but thats to be expected from these massively talented musicians! PKOs new 25th anniversary CD is gonna be great! Weve been working hard on it for 6 weeks. We hope to have it ready for PKOs 25th anniversary celebration on Friday, January 10, 2014 at Zal Gaz Grotto. Mark your calendar. It was great to be with our friends Glen and Nancy Krebs, Dallas C. Dort, Barbara Kramer, Larry and Dot Harper, John Lilley and many others. Thanks to all who show up and enjoyed the music! We are so grateful to our loyal fans! Next Monday, PKOs special guest will be Belleville High School Jazz Band. They are a really great group. No recording for PKO.
