Bill Maher 7/14 On the immigration bill: “ If the only plan that we have for immigration reform is a military style SURGE that wastes $46 BILLION for all that stuff in the bill, then – it’s not a plan…. it’s a WAR. A WARE to replace the wars that are ending overseas. Because after the last soldier leaves Afghanistan, we are going to be dangerously close to not having ANY war! ……..Mexican immigration coming to America is net zero. … Ten years ago there were 10,000 border patrol agents. Now there are 21,000. The new bill, will up it to 38,000 agents. Why? Because Republicans HATE big government. EXCEPT for WAR, which is their version of a stimulus package. Oh no, not the BAD kind of stimulus that builds schools and fixes bridges. That kind is SOCIALISM. Building weapon systems no one needs, THAT’S Patriotism! This is the same people that brought you the drug war, Iraq and Afghanistan, deciding that what this country REALLY needs is another PHONY war. It’s a SURGE alright, to the pockets of defense contractors. They are SO BRAZEN to get Americans to keep buying their sh$t, that the IMMIGRATION bill mandates that SPECIFIC weapon systems must be bought from SPECIFIC contractors.
