Black Senator Says, Black people are just being used by limousine liberals. Republican Louisiana state Sen. Elbert Guillory says, You see, black people are just being used by limousine liberals who have become our new overseers. Weve only traded one plantation for another. You are not Kay Hagans cause and youre certainly not her charity. You are just a vote. She has stepped off your backs to fame and fortune and left you behind on food stamps, deprived of the American dream. There are people like Hagan who come to our communities every four years or every six years. They come with a beer in one hand and a chicken sandwich in another. They kiss us, and then they go away. And they don’t do anything for us, we don’t hear from them until the next election. We have to stop them.” Guillory said that Republicans have not done as well at communicating with black communities, and his message is an attempt to do just that.
