Blacks Selling Out Their Interest --------------------------------- Yesterday, I spent most of the day honoring some of the prominent individuals who have sacrificed their lives for the struggle for black empowerment, freedom, respect and dignity. I always suffer from a duality pertaining to my emotions when I drench myself deep into black history. I am always in awe of the brilliance of some of these men and women who have fought their entire lives to make things better and at the same time, I am saddened by the fact that much has not been changed. Then I am left with the mathematical question as to whether or not these individuals sacrifices were personal pluses or minuses? When I look at the lives of many of the children and grand children of these black sacrificial lambs, I become deeply saddened. Malcolm Xs children have been battling what seems like eternal pain and their family has been severely broken. No doubt, the root cause of many of their family issues is Malcolm Xs sacrifice of his life in trying to save and uplift his black people. Almost every black individual knows the name Malcolm X, but I sometimes wonder if they ever think or ask about his children? Yesterday, as I was watching and listening to the words of black revolutionary, Kwame Toure as he talked about the difference between mobilizing and organizing, I felt validated in many of my beliefs. Toure says that blacks basically will not achieve anything without them being an organized group. He spoke about many efforts that were made by himself and others to organize blacks and how those groups were always destroyed by emissaries for the enemies who fear blacks as an organized force and worked overtime to keep them fragmented and marginalized. As I listened to him talk about his experience, a smile came to my face. I often ask myself whether or not blacks are more susceptible to betraying their own interest. Many blacks would like to posit that the white man went into Africa with nets that he used to catch blacks, placed them on boats and brought them to the new world to labor as slaves. But, the truth is, the Transatlantic Slavery could not have been a success or even a reality without the collaboration of blacks themselves. The Indians fought the whites tooth and nail and no one could make them slaves. If blacks were determined to fight to the death as the Indians, the outcome would have been much different. On the plantation, we see how blacks continued to work against their own interest. The ones that were conscious and worked to achieve freedom were reported to the masters by their brothers and sisters and examples were made of them to nip any type of thinking about liberation out of the others systems. Every single black organization that have had the objective to empower back people and work for their interest has been infiltrated by workers for the enemy. Whereas other ethnicities have had secret groups and organizations that have been intact for centuries where the members work to safe guard their interest and ensure that no foreign agent is allowed in. Black organizations have had white members on their board of directors, with the exception of the UNIA, SNCC, the black panthers and maybe a couple or so more. However, one or more black thats were members of these groups were always agents working against the groups interest for individuals who seek to keep blacks subservient. When you look at organizations like the KKK and the mob, where none of their members would ever dream of becoming informants, (until recent times where we have seen people like Sammy the Bull Graveno who informed on his brothers) and you compare them with black organizations, you really have to wonder what are these people who work against their own interest thinking? I no longer waste my time with black organizations. I am not impressed with the Pom and Circumstances and no real changes. My mother was a Garveyite and I consider myself a Garveyite in that I live and breath self reliance. Many of the black organizations are dependent on whites for their existence and they take their orders from their donors. I believe that blacks should support themselves and be independent. Then after they have achieved success in economic, social and political empowerment, they can have interdependent relationships with members of other races. Thus, I have adopted my personal model of building my family. I give my children the best education that I can afford so that they can gain the tools to catch their own fish and not become dependent on me or any other. This model has been working very well. If each black parent was to ensure that his or her child is capable of catching his or her own fish, maybe then, we would be able to change things. Malcolm X and others tried to save the masses and in many cases this was done to the detriment of themselves and their children. There is a saying that we should not bite off more than we can chew. I would love to start a program that is organized to help the masses. However, wisdom and experience tell me that it would be infiltrated and my mission would never be accomplished. It is not negativity. It is simply looking at things realistically. Habits are hard to break and black people just have a bad habit of selling out their interest.
