Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered. -Psalm 32:1 Had an interesting conversation with a retired Army man who had been a sniper yesterday. He was the driver who towed my pathfinder to the repair shop. We talked about his career, his family, and then naturally the state of world affairs. As we rode along I was praying Lord - show me how I can let my light shine, and help me to keep my political opinions to myself. As we discussed how our country and the world seem to be in a state of chaos he turns to me and says I read the Bible and go to church - and all of this is in there. All you got to do is pick it up and read it. Now some people call themselves Christians - but I just cant be forgiven for all Ive done. So I followed that up with So the God you read about just doesnt offer forgiveness for all sin? I talked a little about the scope of forgiveness. He said well my wife tells me God will forgive me, but I just dont know, and he looks at me and asks Do you read the Bible? I said Yes. He then said Seems like you really believe what you read. I replied with Well, He forgave me and saved me and for the last twenty one years Ive preached the gospel - so If I didnt believe it I should have quit a long time ago. It got quiet and he asked how could God forgive him for all he had done. Knowing I had just a short amount of time - I explained Forgiveness and Salvation as simply as I knew how. After this he politely changed the subject and our time was ended. I sensed the Holy Spirit telling me to write down Psalm 32 and leave it with him - so I did. Ive added him to my prayer list - knowing that this was a divine appointment and I had a chance to water a seed someone else had planted. I dont share this to brag on me, or ask you to like this post or pat me on the back. The point of this is to encourage you that ALL of us can be used of God to share if we are ready when the moment comes.
