Bollix to Christmas. If theres a downside to marriage, this is it. It is a total disruption of EVERYTHING. An entire month where one cant diet, potential quiet evenings are disrupted with awkward social functions and then theres tearing apart the house to put up decorations which then occupy valuable garage space the rest of the year. Then theres the $300 Chinese Christmas tree thats only a year old and already has an entire tier of lights dead (and yes, I just spent 2 hours troubleshooting the feckin thing - remember, Im an engineer). Alternative? Being a single guy living in a nice Airstream in a remote part of the Mojave, or illegally parked somewhere up in Big Sur. No debt, no property taxes, no feckin Christmas tree. Open for conjugal visits.
