Books of condolence are being opened at Chatsworth House today after the death of Deborah, the Dowager Duchess of Devonshire, at the age of 94. Her son, the Duke of Devonshire, announced the death yesterday in a statement from Chatsworth, her stately home. Prince Charles said he was saddened by the news, saying he adored and admired Deborah and would miss her so very much.
