Bracknell Bees sign Lewis Turner and Sam Waller The Bracknell Bees have agreed terms with defencemen Lewis Turner and Sam Waller for the 2014-15 English Premier League season. Turner, 21, re-signs for his fourth season with the Bees, while Waller, 22, rejoins the Bees after spells with the Slough Jets and Wightlink Raiders. Commenting on the double signing, Bees GM Ben Beeching said I felt that Lewis made massive strides in his development last season under Lukas’s guidance, and I’m highly confident that he’ll make a top-4 spot his this season. He’s also been working hard all summer to build his frame, and I believe this will help him massively. On the capture of Waller’s signature, Beeching added Sam was one of the guys we’d shortlisted in the early stages of our planning, and we’re delighted to have agreed terms to bring him to the Hive. I felt that he played a big role for Slough the past couple of years, and I was impressed with his contribution in the games I saw him in. I also think Sam and Lewis will both benefit massively from Jan Bendik’s and Pavel Strycek’s experience, while Harvey Stead will also have a big part to play on a blueline we are excited about the potential of. Head Coach Lukas Smital had this to say on his new signings. “I’m delighted that Lewis and Sam see their future with the Bees and I am looking forward to watching them grow into key roles on our D next season. Both guys bring a considerable amount of experience despite their relatively young ages, and I have a strong belief that both of them will contribute big things to the team”. The Bees have also been linked with further signings, and with a few key roster spots still up for grabs the club will be making further announcements in the coming weeks.
