Breaking - Rioters and looters were expected to head to the heart - TopicsExpress

Breaking - Rioters and looters were expected to head to the heart of South County hoping to ransack Crestwood Mall. Encouraging grafitti espousing Burn this mutha down and No Justice, No Sears! seemed to spark the initial movement. Those spray painted messages were linked to a gang of civic leaders hoping to cash in on relief funds to bankroll a new plan, any plan, to do SOMETHING with the site. Leaders admitted it was a long shot, and preparations were underway to break stuff and start the fires themselves but there really isnt much left to burn. Rioters, who started out with malicious intent, soon removed their masks, shrugged their shoulders and left empty handed - apparently unable to muster the collective initiative to do much of anything to the ghost-mall. Save the gas, its only Crestwood Mall seemed to be the general consensus of the newly aligned group composed oddly of black from the near north side and white suburban investors as they hitched rides back to Ferguson on stolen troop transports from Missouris National Guard. We probably should have stopped them said one unit Commander but we had to wait for orders from Governor Nixon and hes been nowhere to be found, we werent really using them anyway. Some soldiers borrowed Anonymous masks from rioters in hopes of mini-looting enough cigarettes and liquor to get them through the next few days of zealously guarding nothing and stopping no one. Its sooo boring, one young guardsman said, were just waiting for Obama to Federalize us so we can start protecting peaceful looters and rioters from angry shopowners - hey, are you gonna finish that sammich?. Asked about plans to take violence and mayhem to the streets of Clayton or Frontenac or Jefferson county, one apparent leader of rabblerousers shouted back enthusiastically, YES! HELL YES! And ummm, nope.
