~Breaking the illusion ~ We have been hearing since our childhood that this is an illusory existence, a Mayic one. We have been told by our scriptures to break through the web of illusion and be free. But, where exactly does this fundamental illusion lie? Can we have a laymans understanding of it, without using any high sounding jargons of our scriptures? How is illusion created? Suppose I see a person. Obviously the person is outside of me. Precisely that is the reason I can see him. The moment my eyes capture that person,an image gets formed inside my brain. Now, there are two entities-the actual person outside of me and the image of the person inside of me. The person outside is a product of Nature, but the person (the image)inside is made purely of me. Herein illusion occurs. I consider that both the entities -the person outside and his image inside- are one and the same. I get into a trap. Suppose I make a clear distinction between the two and know that the image of the other person inside me is ,in reality,myself only because it is constituted of my energy, my imagination,my brain mapping. The illusion breaks apart in a moment. I love the inside image the moment I know it is me only. I can no longer fight with it. I can no longer react to it. How can I react to myself? I can only love myself. And if I love the image of the person I cant hate the outside person too. Thus, all illusions break if I make a distinction between the outside existence and the inside world of images. The former is Nature , the latter is pure , unalloyed Self.
