Brett Beauvais scored with 2:01 to play to give the Penticton Vees a 4-3 victory over the Merritt Centennials and a four-game sweep of the B.C. Hockey League first-round playoff series Saturday at the Nicola Valley Arena. Jack Ramsey had tied the game with just 5:20 to go, and with overtime looming for a second straight night, captain Brad McClure set up Beauvais for a lunging tip-in at the far side of the net. McClure also had his sixth goal in the four games and Steen Cooper got his first for the Vees, who rallied from a goal down on three occasions. The Vees had a smoother ride to the finish than in Game 3 as the Cents took a bench penalty after the Vees grabbed the lead. James Neil with two and Tyler Martin scored for the Centennials. Hunter Miska made 32 stops for the Vees while Devin Kero stopped 23 for Merritt. The Vees play the winner of the Vernon-West Kelowna series starting Friday in Penticton.
