Bridge collapses on R28  A cable bridge on the R28 between Krugersdorp and Randfontein has collapsed. 05 December 2013 The cable bridge near West Village on the R28 between Kugersdorp and Randfontein has collapsed resulting in the R28 being closed in both directions. By 3am this morning workers were working frantically to repair the cable bridge, which allegedly had become unstable due to the heavy rain recently, before the morning rush hour. A worker on the scene told the Herald that he doubted that this could be done. Motorists are advised to use alternative routes to get to or from Krugersdorp. The Herald would advise motorists to make use of the Tom Muller Street turn off from the R28 in order to get to Krugersdorp. Tom Muller Street turns left off the R28 just after West Village and runs all the way to Luipaard Street in Krugersdorp West from where Ondekkers Road, the N14, as well as Robert Broom Drive is easily accessible
