Bubonic plague hit Christians worse because they were the only - TopicsExpress

Bubonic plague hit Christians worse because they were the only ones who would care for the sick. Early missionaries to Africa packed their belongings in coffins because they knew the likelihood they would not survive long due to illness. But still they obeyed. With ebola fears spreading--do we have that same heart of compassion and obedience to the gospel? Jesus calls us to die to our self-preservation instinct and lay down our lives for others. This is what makes us different from the world! Brothers and sisters, be careful about jumping on bandwagons that are nothing more than fear-based self-preservation hysteria (oh, and a chance to further bash someone whose political views you do not agree with). That is not the gospel.
