Buildings dont make a country. Parts of many African countries - TopicsExpress

Buildings dont make a country. Parts of many African countries are more developed than Cuba. Yet, Cuba has a soul. The country has what many countries will never have. A can do attitude. I remember the late Teofilio Stevenson, the Cuban Olympic boxing hero who was enticed with tens of millions of dollars to defect during this heroic days. I remember the father of the Cuban boy, Elian Gonzalez who survived a raft trip to the USA that killed his mom. Elians father went to the US and got his son back with federal officers raiding the home of Elians Miami relatives. Elians dad was promised millions by the exiled Cuban American community to defect in order to embarrass Castro. He chose to go back to Cuba. Morale of story. In order for a country to move forward, its people must live by a simple credo, that my country first, take it or leave it. When we in Liberia adopt a country first strategy instead of attempts to loot our country any opportunity we get, then we can be that great country that God intended us to be. And so it goes. My Friday morning sermon. I will not be much on Facebook over the next several weeks due to international contractual engagements that prevent my frequency on this medium. But I will be peeking. God bless and keep you. This is Elian Gonzalez, pictured below, very handsome, now 21 years old living in Cuba as a military cadet studying engineering and praising Fidel Castro. I dont care much about Cubas rift with the US, but I respect their passion and love for country.
