Adrian Pascual, 22, call center agent of VXI Philippines in Makati City, of 70-B Veterans Village, Project 7, Quezon City, died while undergoing treatment at the Mandaluyong City Medical Center (MCMC) due to stab and two gunshot wounds in the body. Senior Supt. Florendo Quibuyen, Mandaluyong police chief, ordered a manhunt operation against the three unidentified robbers. SPO1 Ferdinand Ortiz, chief of the Tactical Operation Center, said the incident happened at about 12:30 a.m. on EDSA south-bound lane near MRT Boni Station. The three suspects boarded CEM Trans bus (TYM-728), strategically positioned themselves inside and declared a holdup. Passenger Jerome Mallare said one of the suspects approached the victim and ordered to hand over his wallet and cellphone but the latter refused, prompting the suspect to shoot him twice. “Dahil ayaw umanong bitiwan ng biktima ang cellphone niya kaya umabot na sa bandang harapan ng bus ang hilahan. Nagalit ang mga suspek at tuluyan siyang sinaksak at binaril ng dalawang beses,” witness told police. The passengers panicked, forcing the three suspects to immediately alight from the bus in front of Polymedic Hospital. The bus driver, along with other passengers, rushed the victim to the MCMC where he died while undergoing treatment.
