Busy Day Local Area meeting in Duleek. Delighted to have made the proposal to ask this municipal area to invite President Michael D.Higgins to Duleek for the unveiling of our new Sculptures by Maurice Harron sometime early next year. This would be a very unifying visit and great for Duleek. I also raised the issue about our Roadwork improvements in Duleek, which should be starting in early November. The issue regarding our sewage sludge in this area was raised by me with regard to air pollution but this has nothing to do with Meath County Council so I will be raising this with Irish Water. The Boundary Wall around the commons estate was also raised. These are cracking very badly. MCC will investigate whom is responsible for this and I will update you all. With regard to the famous road connecting The steeples & Cill Carban, Duleek , the steeples is taken in charge by the council, but Cill Carban is not. I will speak to the enforcement officer to move this to a satisfactory result. This will take time residents, but we will get there. Works are continuing in The Belfry so that can be taken in charge as soon as the builder carries out essential repairs. Thank you to the concerned resident in Donore for making me aware that the public bins have not been emptied. This issue should be resolved tomorrow. Some good work going on..I really like the stone wall on the back road from Duleek towards Ardcath. Next Tuesday we have a big meeting whereby we get to decide on the increase or reduction on Property Tax for Meath. I promised on my election I would not vote for any increase to this in the budget. I will keep my promise. Many councillors will be calling for a reduction, yet when it comes to trying to provide things like parks, libraries, community facilities, improvements to our public graveyards, safety measures around schools...they expect the Fairies to come along and deliver these..Im here and elected to deliver for the people of this area and that is exactly what I intend to do.
