Busy Memorial Day Weekend at Long Beach Sportfishing! The Liberty handled the local scene this weekend with its 3/4 Day and Twilight runs hitting tons of Sculpin and Sand Bass. The 3/4 Day on Saturday with 52 anglers landed 12 red snapper, 49 rockfish, 156 sculpin, 29 s. grouper, and 350 sand dabs. Fridays Twilight with 53 anglers hit 67 sand bass, 31 rockfish, 2 cabezon, and 43 sculpin. Sundays trips were much more productive with the 3/4 Day with 38 anglers landing 21 red snapper, 62 rockfish, 190 sculpin, 11 s. grouper, and 310 sand dabs. The Twilight with 37 anglers landed 10 sand bass, 25 rockfish, and 15 sculpin. The Eldorado and the Seeker just returned from their multi-day trips this morning. The Eldorado on its 1.5 Day with 30 anglers landed 1 nice halibut, 33 calicos, 65 rockfish, 62 whitefish, 43 sheephead, 4 cabezon, 7 sculpin, 60 s. grouper, and 78 blue perch. The Seeker on her 2.5 Day trip with 21 anglers landed 2 nice sized white seabass (40 lbs), 1 halibut, 37 red snapper, 49 calico, 214 rockfish, 23 whitefish, 17 sheephead, 6 sculpin, 64 s. grouper, 1 lingcod, 45 blue perch, and 1 yellowtail. We also had the Ahra-Ahn cleaning up on its Monthly Sand Dab Special with 22 anglers landing over 1700 dabs. The Ahra-Ahn ran its Full Day Limited Load to Catalina this Sunday with 27 anglers. They hit 2 barracuda, 18 red snapper, 12 calico, 128 rockfish, 84 s. grouper, 32 blue perch, 3 sand dabs, and 1 wolf eel. The Chubasco III headed out this Sunday on a Full Day private charter with 4 anglers and landed 2 barracuda, 10 calicos, 3 sheephead, and 3 yellowtail!
