"But when the time had come, God sent out his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, That he might make them free who were under the law, and that we might be given the place of sons. And because you are sons, God has sent out the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, saying, Abba, Father. So that you are no longer a servant, but a son; and if a son, then the heritage of God is yours." (Galatians 4:4-7 Bible in Basic English) The Spirit teaches us, "when the time had come..." (τὸ πλήρωμα τοῦ χρόνου) denoting the superabundance or copious completeness which characterizes the acts of God. He sent forth his preexisting Son when the time for His purpose arrived; "made of a woman" stating both His deity and humanity. The purpose was that we might receive adoption (apolabōmen), not get back, but get from God adoption as Sons. To "free" from the dominion and curse of the law all that believe. And because we are "sons" we call out "Daddy," "Father!" Sending the Spirit of His Son into our hearts confirms the conclusion that we are “heirs according to the promise." (Galatians 4:29) Because Paul is writing to Gentiles he uses the term "sons." The Roman law furnished a more truthful illustration of the privileges of believers. According to Jewish law, the inheritance of the sons is unequal and the daughters were excluded. In the Anointing "the heritage of God" belongs to all believers! Love, joy and peace in the grace of the Spirit!
