But you, Israel my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of - TopicsExpress

But you, Israel my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of my friend Abraham. I took you from the seeds of earth & called from the farthest corners saying to you, “You are my servant, I have chosen you & not cast you off; Fear not for I’m w/ you; Don’t be dismayed, for I’m your God: I will strengthen & help you; I will uphold you w/ my righteous right hand. All who rage against you will be ashamed & will be disgraced; those who oppose you will be nothing & shall perish. You shall seek them & will not find them, even those who oppose you: Those who war against you will be nothing at all. For I the Lord you God will hold your right hand; who says to you, “Fear not, I will help you.” Fear not, you worm Jacob, you men of Israel; I will help you, declares the Lord; your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. I will make you a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth; you shall thresh the mountains & crush them & shall make the hills as chaff. You shall fan them & wind shall carry them away, & whirlwind shall carry them away: & you shall rejoice in the Lord, & shall glory the Holy One of Israel… Is God’s promise exclusive or limited? Is there something we can do to have His promise? Abram was childless to his wife Sarai (89) up to the age of 99 when God appeared to him, assured him, promised him & gave him a new name – Abraham (meaning a father of many nations). After accepting God’s covenant a miraculous change happened to him, a new heart & new body from God where at the age of 100 (& Sarah 90) he fathered Isaac & had 6 more (plus Ishmael whom he has at age of 86 to Hagar) after his wife died until he was 175. God has been responsible in all his walks/ ways & has triumphantly overcome all trials. God as his friend guarded & cared for his seeds (offspring & those who followed). And if this God is your God what could you ask for more? He is the same yesterday & today & forever…Becoz God’s promise to His friend Abraham, He has chosen his seeds to be His servant not because they are capable or deserving. Jacob (reflects us, later called Israel by God is likened to a worm which is unworthy, double dealer, weak, pitiable & trampled always. But because he is His servant he benefited from God’s care & protection, He has supplied all his needs, & triumphant in everything. As a servant, he was chosen to witness to all nations, to stick in His ways, to love God & do His will. But becoz of Israel’s hardness of heart, they forget their covenant to Him & comeback to their sinful ways. But not God, He always remembers His promise & wants to win them back …Through God’s compassionate love He sent His Chosen One, His Son Jesus who laid aside His majesty just to serve humanity. Jesus describes himself as a servant & acted as a servant by dwelling among us as man, He obeyed God’s will, ministered to His disciple & completed His task by dying on the cross, giving His life as a ransom for all. Jesus has overcome the world by His love & now was exalted by God & rules every authority at God’s right hand…God did not only consider you as friend but also of His own, we are His heirs because of Jesus who have carried all our sins, taking all the sufferings & pain & died for our sake. And in return He gave us what He has (new life, Salvation, forgiveness, etc). God has searched you from the farthest corners of the world, He had picked you from miry clay & wants to set your feet on Rock, to be His own. Undeserving but becoz of Jesus you will be protected, strengthened, you will be empowered & victorious wherever you will go just as long as you have Him in your heart. It is His promise & He will not break it but will always remember it…Accept Jesus now, will you refuse Him as your King after all of what He has done for you? If you do, you already have a place in hell where you will suffer the torment & flame while serving the devil, your king for all eternity. …IYF, Good News Mission…
