It is a genuine SS, this one was in the first batch of 1,600 released in 1972, because they were so popular, GM released another batch of 1,200 the next year. Of the 2,800 built it is estimated less than 500 still exist, making the SS a rare car nowadays (quoted from Just Holdens issue 17# page 18)Price new was $3,295. My cars colour is infra red - they only made them in 3 colours - it has 253V8, 4 speed M20 gearbox 3.36:1 Salisbury diff, dual exhausts, GTS fluted mudguards, sports suspension, front disc brakes, GTS wheels and radial ply tyres, GTS instruments, SS steering wheel. All classy stuff way back then. - Drove it to Cairns last weekend (5-hour drive) and home again when sale fell through.
