CAMERA PROFILE: An Adlake Repeater made by Adams and Westlake of Chicago at an original price of $8.00USD. Purchased in a group of Box cameras but sold recently. The camera looks initially like an box Brownie camera on steroids until you examine the lens set-up and the rear camera compartment.The rear compartment opens to hold several glass plate film sets that are mounted individually on a ratchet mechanism. Th operator would turn a dial on the side of the camera for each exposure to position each plate ready for the next shot. If anyone out there has one or has used one we would love to hear from you. This camera was purchased by a man in Ocean Grove near Geelong in Victoria who belongs to the Bellarine Camera club. He plans to use the camera rather than just display it.
