CASTELO TO AFP CHIEF: GO SLOW ON ‘JENNY’ BOYFRIEND - TopicsExpress

CASTELO TO AFP CHIEF: GO SLOW ON ‘JENNY’ BOYFRIEND Rep. Winston “Winnie” Castelo (Liberal Party, 2nd District of Quezon City) today urged Armed Forces chief of staff Gen. Gregorio Pio Catapang to go slow on Mark Suselbeck, the reported German boyfriend of slain transgender Jeffrey Laude (aka “Jenny”). “Let’s not be harsh on Suselbeck. Let him stay in the country, if he wishes,” Castelo, chair of the House committee on Metro Manila development. Castelo made the statement as the AFP prepares a report that would request the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation to initiate deportation proceedings against the German boyfriend. Suselback earned the ire of the military top brass after he was seen on a video film clip, climbing the metal fence at Camp Aguinaldo and shoving a soldier, who was among the guards in the area. The German nation was reported to have issued a personal apology to the military leaders and the military guard, saying he was carried by his emotions after learning that Pfc. Joseph Scott Pemberton, the principal suspect, was being transferred in Camp Aguinaldo. Castelo said Suselbeck apparently did not commit a crime, although his behavior could be regarded as mere “annoyance.” “In the spirit of harmony and friendship, let him stay in the country and pursue the quest for justice for the slain transgender,” Castelo said. “Besides, it does not make sense to deport him when the people in the judiciary call him to appear as witness in Jenny’s slay,” Castelo said. “We should exercise tolerance considering the circumstances surrounding Jenny’s death,” Castelo said. #
