CAUSES OF UNREST AND CRIME IN MANY PARTS OF NIGERIA TODAY:- Individuals need to be responsible for their own actions. An understanding of root causes cannot and should not be a way to absolve us from personal accountability. However, while individuals have an obligation to abt responsibly and with respect for their fellow citizens, our govts have a responsibility to address those conditions, which hinder healthy development and can become the breeding ground for unrest or crime in our country. Unrest in Nigeria is primarily the outcome of multiple adverse social, economic, cultural and family conditions. To prevent unrest/crime in Nigeria it is important to have an understanding of its roots and buying of guns or deployment of our resources to fight it. Sumarily, lack of financial resources, poverty, lack of educational opportunities, lack of meaningful employment options, poor housing, lack of hope and the prejudice agaist persons living in poverty, inequality, centralization of power, lack of suport from govts, inaccessibility to basic services, bad leadership, low value placed on individual well-being by the govt, overexposure to television, parental inadequacy, parental conflict, parental criminality, abuse and neglect of children, lack of respect and responsibility and family violence are the reasons for the unrest or crimes in Nigeria. In other to prevent this issue unrest in Nigeria govts; ie fed, state and local govt must focus on improvements in all the areas listed above.
