#CES Las Vegas Preview Some tech news will be coming our way tomorrow as the International Consumer Electronics Show kicks off. Every year it showcases the electronic trends to come and gives demos of some tech we may or may not be using in the near future. Last year it was all about wearables and although this year we are bound to see more wearables with fashion brands now throwing their hat in to the ring, what should interest many gamers at CEX is virtual reality and other peripherals centered around VR. The Oculus rift has been the focus of VR in the past couple of years, and will more than likely be featured at the show. The new VR headset for Samsung devices, the Gear VR will also be demoed as well as an app that uses virtual spaces where far away friends can feel as if they are chatting together in the same room. Oculus VR has also recently acquired two new companies, Nimble VR that deals with tracking the movement of hands and 13th Lab that specializes in tracking both 2D and 3D movement, as well as the creation of 3D objects and spaces using cameras. Hopefully well get to see how these will work with the VR headset. The final version of the virtuix omni, the multidirectional treadmill for gaming is expected to be revealed at the conference which can also be used with the Oculus. We will also get to see the official reveal of a completely new VR headset with the Glyph. A very stylish piece of tech that can be used as headphones or a VR headset and features head tracking and “micromirror retinal projection” to simulate natural light. This should make the user feel more like theyre sitting in a dark cinema theater than having screens right in front of their eyes. Check out the headset in action below. So what would you like to see at CES? Are you a tech junking and would more news from the show in the coming days? Let us know!
