CGCC PART-TIME TEMPORARY OPPORTUNITY AUXILIARY SUPPORT SPECIALIST, DISABILITY RESOURCES AND SERVICES Department: STUDENT SUPPORT & TRANSITION SERVICES Job Summary This position will assist in all areas of support for our DRS student population; specifically in utilizing computer skills and knowledge of assistive technology in monitoring all ADA (Americans with Disability Act) computer sites on multiple campuses. Assists the DRS Specialist in completing all Instructor Notification Forms and prepare material for all DRS students to begin the new semester in order to ensure student retention and success. Be able to follow, support and complete all department processes, policies and forms in order to stay in compliance ADA, OCR and FERPA. Applicant will need to be familiar with ADA software and programs in order to assist staff, faculty, and students. Work directly with outside companies to order specific books on CD and other equipment and software as well as orient students to equipment. Representative Duties: This individual will be responsible to work directly with CGCC’s diverse student population serviced by our Disability Resources and Services Office. The position is responsible for providing assistance with auxiliary services to students in need. Requires the ability to connect with, develop, and support individual students with unique needs as they attend college. Minimum Qualifications: Experience working with diverse student populations Understanding of CGCC’s Student Services functions Effective communication skills, both oral and written Experience with confidential materials Desired Qualifications: Experience working with Individuals who have identified themselves as having a disability Understanding and skilled in utilizing of ADA software and equipment Experience working with adaptive equipment and able to orient students to new equipment Special Conditions: Responsible to work 15-20 hours per week starting August 5th through September 6, 2013 Hours: Monday through Friday flexibility 20 hours per week Wages: $9.64 per hour (No Benefits) To apply: Submit a letter of interest and resume via email to [email protected] by 5:00 p.m. on Thursday July 18th, 2013.
