CINCINNATI —Many hope of pursuing an Olympic dream, but one Cincinnati teen has the chance to make her dream a reality. Kady Abrahamson, 15, of the Cincinnati Country Day High School, has been riding show horses since the age of 7. She began trail riding with her parents and has been hooked since the first jump she took. She is now an accomplished junior jumper, working with her 18-year-old horse, "Irish." Abrahamson has an eye on the Equestrian Nationals this fall and the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. “He’s gotten me to the grand prix level. We went clear in our first grand prix a few weeks ago in Lexington,” said Abrahamson. Show jumping may be the ultimate team sport. Humans rely on each other for success. In this sport, it’s the unspoken rhythm and trust between horse and rider that has to carry the jump, Abrahamson said. “You have to be a team, trust each other like you’re best friends. When you get on them, it’s a trust thing and I trust them to just take care of each other,” said Abrahamson. While the Olympics are the ultimate goal, Abrahamson is not focused on that right now. Abrahamson is off to a flying start stating, “I am not at that level yet.” But I have three more years to go so I’m gonna try.” WATCH THE VIDEO: wlwt/news/local-news/cincinnati/high-school-rider-wants-to-make-olympic-dreams-reality/-/13549970/21041276/-/53vxc1/-/index.html
